This weekend we visited Hildene, the summer home of Robert Lincoln, President Lincoln’s son. Hildene — hill and valley with a stream — is situated overlooking the Battenkill Valley and River with views of the Taconic and Green Mountains.
The house was built in 1905, and was fun to explore. I was taken by the fresh flower arrangements in room after room. Twice a week, the flowers are replenished by a volunteer group in Manchester. They animate the space, bring alive the imaginings…
The grounds have beautiful gardens (a cutting garden and formal garden), miles of walking paths, goats, a restored Pullman car…much to explore.

Lovely pix, Cathy. I love how your framing of the top one makes it look mega-3D.
