“It takes a second to look, a long time to see.”
Yesterday I had the pleasure of leading a workshop on street photography at the East Side Institute: “The Art of Photography: Improve Your Lens.”
We spent the day exploring the work of several NYC street photographers, talking about the performance of a street photographer and then creating our own performances and photos roaming the streets of Chelsea.
Here are some of the wonderful photos created.
“I fell in love with taking pictures, with wandering around finding things. To me if feels like a kind of performance. The picture is a document of that performance.” ~Alex Soth
“The marvels of daily life are exciting; no movie director can arrange the unexpected that you find in the street.” ~Robert Dosineau
It was an energizing and inspiring day!
